Termite activity on the Sunshine Coast

We recommend the best suited Termite Management System when advising our customers on how to protect their home from termite attack.  The system we choose will depend on the building design and construction.  When recommending a baiting and monitoring system we use the Exterra Termite Interception and Baiting System.  The Exterra System is designed to intercept foraging termites and to concentrate the termite feeding in the Exterra Stations.  We install in-ground stations in the soil around the perimeter of the building.  The stations contain timber interceptors and are inspected on a regular basis.  When termites are intercepted (found) in the station/s we add Exterra Requiem Termite Bait into the stations.  The Requiem is a chitin synthesis inhibitor; without chitin termites cannot moult as chitin makes up the termites exoskeleton and termites die if they do not moult.  Feeding on the Requiem bait results in colony elimination.  When the colony has been eliminated the Requiem bait is removed from the stations and replaced with the timber interceptors and the stations continue to be monitored on a regular basis.  Below are pictures of an above ground station that we have placed on a timber bridge where the termites have totally consumed the Requiem bait. (time to feed them some more!)
